About the role
Node4 is an exciting and challenging place to work as we expand into new markets and introduce new solutions into our product range. With our own UK data centres, national MPLS network and many strong USPs, our portfolio includes Colocation, Private Cloud, Public Cloud, Connectivity, Security, Data and Business Applications solutions. As a result of continued growth and ambitious plans for development, we require a Bid Manager to support and help develop the bid functions, driving initiatives and proactive operational improvement across the business.
The role will bring a consistent, time efficient and high-quality approach to the way we respond to any bid opportunity across the business. A bid refers to any opportunity we are bidding on across the entire sales process, covering quote, ad-hoc proposal, RFPs and presentations. The role involves a mix of strategic and tactical activities to ensure the business meets objectives and priorities. The Bid Manager will report to the Head of Bid Management.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities
• Support and manage the bid and proposal process for commercial opportunities to ensure the delivery of high quality, compliant on-time proposals.
• Support the Head of Bid Management on more complex opportunities.
• Manage various public sector portals for inbound RFXs and outbound submissions.
• Responsible for RFP/Proposal submissions on allocated opportunities; including review of documentation, preparation of responses, organisation and coordination of team required, review and edit of content ensuring an overall high-quality response.
• Facilitate a winning strategy for the bid; working with the Sales Leads and internal subject matter experts to define messaging and customer relevant themes by analysing customer requirements, competitive positioning and Node4 capability.
• Support the further development of repeatable bid content into a Bid Library.
• Understand how to deliver an exceptional customer experience and ensure the sales process contributes to this.
What will you bring?
In order to carry out the role effectively it is important to demonstrate the following:
• Understanding of sales and bid operations.
• Some experience in bid management, ideally in a technology or other B2B role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and motivate a virtual bid team.
• Support bid planning meetings and develop bid strategies aligned with company goals.
• Good project management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Innovative approach, consistently seeking improvements to processes.
• Good commercial acumen.
• Flexibility, able to adjust approach to different situations, clients and projects.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
Desirable Skills
• Experience in the public sector, with familiarity of the public sector tendering process and management of various portals (e.g. CCS Bravo, Digital Marketplace, InTend, Proactis etc.).
• An interest in desktop publishing and graphical design.
• Experience with AI tooling and refinement of output.

Successful Performance will be measured against a set of Key Performance Indicators.
