About the role
The Security Solutions Engineer (SE) is a customer-facing technical specialist responsible for shaping, positioning, and architecting Node4’s next-generation security portfolio. This lead role will take responsibility for our overall portfolio and driving the roadmap for our set of security services over the coming years. This includes point solutions for protecting Dynamics 365 and cloud environments, extended detection and response (XDR), identity and access management, and cloud security posture management. The SE plays a critical role in translating customer challenges into tailored solutions, driving trust in Node4’s capabilities, and helping secure new business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with account managers and solution specialists to position Node4’s security portfolio during the sales cycle.
• Lead discovery sessions with customers to uncover security pain points, regulatory drivers, and technology gaps.
• Deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) across XDR, SIEM/SOAR, identity, and cloud posture services.
• Articulate the value of security within broader Node4 offerings (Cloud, Data & AI, Modern Workplace, Business Applications). Solution Design & Architecture
• Design end-to-end security solutions leveraging Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Entra ID, Dynamics 365 security models, and Node4-managed services.
• Produce high-quality proposals, architecture diagrams, and statements of work (SoW) aligned to customer requirements and Node4 delivery capabilities.
• Ensure designs incorporate security best practices, regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials+, GDPR), and future-proofing for customer growth. Portfolio & Innovation Contribution:
• Act as a feedback loop between customers, sales, and the product management team to influence Node4’s security roadmap.
• Stay ahead of market trends in XDR, identity, cloud posture management, and AI-driven SOC automation.
• Position innovative new solutions into Node4 and challenge the status quo • Develop repeatable playbooks, reference architectures, and sales collateral to accelerate adoption of new security services.
• Support enablement of sales and technical teams by sharing knowledge and conducting training sessions.
• Work closely with Node4 CISO on internal security adoption and innovation Client Relationship & Thought Leadership
• Build trusted advisor status with technical stakeholders (CIO, CISO, IT Security Managers).
• Participate in industry events, roundtables, and webinars as a security evangelist for Node4.
• Support bid teams with RFP responses and security qualification content.
What will you bring?
The Senior Security SE role at Node4 requires a blend of specific technical skills, leadership qualities, client engagement abilities, and strong communication skills to drive cyber security initiatives effectively.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft security stack (Defender XDR, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview).
• Experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms and automation (preferably Microsoft Sentinel, Cortex XSOAR, or similar).
• Understanding of identity governance, zero-trust principles, and cloud posture management.
• Familiarity with securing Identity solutions, Dynamics 365 workloads, Azure environments, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
• Awareness of compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS, GDPR) and how they map into solution design. Pre-Sales & Consulting Skills
• Proven track record in a pre-sales or solutions engineering role within a managed service provider (MSP), system integrator, or vendor.
• Ability to build tailored presentations and deliver persuasive demos to both technical and business audiences.
• Strong experience in creating solution proposals, SoWs, and RFP responses.
• Commercial awareness to align solutions with business outcomes and ROI. Personal Attributes
