About the role
Node4 is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Internal Systems Development Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team responsible for all software engineering activities surrounding our core platform, Nexus – a key business system driving our operations and presenting valuable data to customers, colleagues, and partners.  As a Software Engineer, you’ll work with cutting-edge technologies, including the latest AI tools and frameworks, within an agile development environment. 

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the Head of Software Engineering in delivering systems that provide value to Node4 and Clients and their collective employees.

• Delivery of new software application functionality in line with defined requirements.

• Following established coding standards, guidelines and project practices.

• Working alongside other members of the Internal Systems Development Team following advice and guidance from the Head of Software Engineering.

• Creating enterprise software documentation.

• Develop good working relationships across all departments, both technical and operational.

• Identify opportunities to add further value to the customer, team & wider business

• Seek feedback & regularly reflect on own performance.

• Take personal responsibility for and actively engage in product, systems and skills training and development.

What will you bring?

• Experience as an engineer for Digital Transformation projects, developing enterprise software solutions providing business-critical functionality (not simple websites) to both internal and customer user groups.

• Technical expertise in PHP, JavaScript (Vue.js\Node.js), MySQL, MongoDB, API development and Docker (Essential). (Applications are welcome from both Full Stack and predominantly Back End or Front End developers).

• Software Development for technology platforms supporting complex business engagements, engineering collaborations and system integrations for high performing enterprise use.

• Configuration and use of modern source control and CI\CD systems and practices.

• Following full Software Development Lifecycle best practice, including building, testing and releasing solutions, working within an Agile (Scrum\Kanban) environment.

• Demonstrable experience delivering solutions for a fast-paced, high impacting, digital delivery environment across both software components and supporting databases.

• Experience with enterprise finance/ billing systems (Highly Desirable).

In addition to the standard expected development skills, you will need to be comfortable working with the latest tools:

• Python (Desirable)
• API’s (Swagger, Postman, etc.)
• Microservices
• Working with automation frameworks, i.e. Windmil.dev
• Experience with AI development platforms, i.e. Cursor AI
