Senior Cloud Engineer

Node4 has an exciting opportunity for Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure team. As a senior member of the infrastructure team you will be responsible for the upkeep and provisioning of the Node4 cloud platform following company guidelines for support, internal maintenance and external projects.

This is the ideal role for an experienced infrastructure professional looking to join a dynamic team within a rapidly growing, award-winning and highly accredited company. You will need to have in-depth technical knowledge of NetApp compute & storage, VMware vSphere & vCloud Director, Cisco UCS compute. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge cloud technologies in an exciting and dynamic environment

What will you be doing?

  • Working within our Cloud Infrastructure Team you will ensure the operational uptime of the Node4 Cloud Services.
  • Installation, configuration, and management of dedicated and shared cloud infrastructures within the Node4 Data Centres.
  • Escalated operational support for systems within the cloud architecture. The Cloud Infrastructure team own any incidents through to resolution and provide root cause analysis.
  • Liaise with both customers and internal stakeholders, act as lead point of contact when delivering technical aspects of projects and ensuring continuity of services and customer satisfaction regarding the Cloud storage platform.
  • Help to ensure exceptional quality and consistent corporate systems delivery & operations supporting Node4 overlay services, and internal & external customers
  • Approach problems in an analytical and logical way with exceptional troubleshooting skills
  • Working within ITIL based approach to Incident, problem, and change management
  • Promote process improvements, automation and self-service
  • Help define and implement security best practice across the environment and team
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and available to Corporate Services and the wider Node4 teams as required
  • Play a key role in business licence compliance, vulnerability management and business continuity
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement that encourages, engages and supports a high level of professional development and personal responsibility
  • Ensure correct procedures and processes are followed
  • Occasional weekend and evening work to facilitate upgrades and other works on the Node4 Cloud Platform
  • Part of On-Call Rota when required, providing out-of-hours support to escalations from second line support staff
